With just 1-month to go until the 2017 ST3 Trauma and Orthopaedic Interviews we've provided some top tips to help you prepare between now and the interviews.

Get Practising

Find some colleagues who have recently been through the interview process and can give you realistic feedback. Try to arrange formal interview practise to help simulate the real thing and stick to the interview format if possible. You can also sign up to our award winning question bank for hundreds over realistic interview questions with complete answers.

Get Feedback

Make sure you ask for feedback and take it on board. Are you underselling yourself? Have you prepared clinical anatomy sufficiently?

Don't Forget Communication Skills

It can be tricky preparing your communication skills. For those who have attended or signed up to our question bank the key techniques are principles. There are a limited number of scenarios that can come up so make sure you know how to deal with them.

Tweak Your Portfolio

Make the final adjustments to your portfolio, ensure everything is as easy to find as possible and test this by asking people to review it.

Prepare Your Presentation

The presentation topic will be emailed out to you shortly. The presentation goes quickly and we recommend having a single theme backed up by 1-2 points only. Try to differentiate yourself from others where possible.

Get Your PSA and Documents Sorted

Make sure your PSA references and key documents are all sorted ahead of time. You don't want to be worrying about these the night before the interviews.

Book Your Train and Hotel

Once you now your interview time slot decide whether you will travel directly or will stay overnight beforehand. Check train times and book in advance to avoid worry and ensure you have sufficient time for potential travel delays.
