Saturday 28th November 2015 Knowledge Course

The programme for the Saturday features interactive lectures and example interview scenarios so that you can see what differentiates the very best candidates. We are also delighted to welcome EOSurgical and Smith & Nephew to give candidates an opportunity to practise and receive feedback on both their arthroscopic and fracture fixation technique. The EOSurgical keyhole surgery system gives users direct computer-based feedback and was utilised at the actual interviews in 2014/5. Candidates will also get the opportunity to boost their communication skills with the help of experienced communication skills tutor and GP Dr Parjhit Dhillon. Parj is a fantastic speaker and combined with the rest of the faculty will provide candidates with the key frameworks and techniques to improve your interview 'soft-skills' and communication skills for the interactive station.

Our ST3 Orthopaedic Interview Knowledge Course features a comprehensive overview of the application process, tips from last year's successful candidates, evidence-based revision of core clinical and anatomy topics together with guides to each individual station. Emphasis has been placed upon areas that previous candidates have struggled with such as the clinical station and interactive station.

The course is lecture-based with focused near-to-peer teaching and interactive group discussion. A brasserie lunch and refreshments together with free high-speed Wi-Fi and pens, pads and sweets will keep you going throughout the day.

Sunday 29th November 2015 Mock Interview Course

The Sunday simulates the actual interviews and candidates will rotate through Portfolio, Clinical, Technical and Presentation and List Planning Stations. We’ll also be giving you personalised feedback and tips on your CVs with a full CV analysis included as part of the course.

The ST3 Orthopaedic Mock Interview Course is already full but a further mock interview course will be held in February 2016.
